Jenny Fay

Jenny traces her love of colour back to the tropical light and vibrant fabrics of her early childhood in West Africa.  She moved to England from Nigeria when she was seven and grew up in Cambridgeshire.  Although passionate about art, she initially pursued a career in law before returning to art in her thirties.

Jenny first gained gallery representation over a decade ago with a series of colourful oil paintings inspired by the natural world.  These paintings explore the rich diversity of colour to be found in essentially monochromatic subjects such as white orchids or blue hydrangeas.  The close cropping and composition of these works celebrate the shapes and rhythms of organic forms whilst the colour harmony provides a sense of tranquillity as if the essence of a single moment in time has been captured and beautifully preserved.

A selection of Jenny’s work is now available as limited edition giclée prints.  These fine art prints are produced in small batches using archival quality paper and inks for superb long-lasting colour.  Each print is signed by the artist.

Jenny lives and works in Goring-on-Thames where she has a light, airy studio looking out over the garden.  She is now a trained portrait artist and welcomes enquiries about her work.

She says "For me portraiture is a wonderfully collaborative process as sitter and artist engage with each other throughout the creation of the painting.  I love the challenge of capturing what is particular about an individual whilst also conveying something of what is common to humanity".

Jenny works from her Oxfordshire studio where she undertakes portrait commissions. She exhibits regularly with the Oxford Art Society and with the Creative Duck in Henley-on-Thames. If your're interested in  a commission please contact us.
